I've been to Florence before and wanted to see the famous works of art inside the Pitti Palace and climb up to the Brunelleschi's Dome. But the long lines in front of the ticket offices always turned me off. This time, I purchased the Florence Pass, and by skipping the ticket lines, I was finally able to see everything I wanted! Florence Pass was worth every cent!
An amazing way to explore all Florence has to offer!
Florence is the most beautiful city in Europe, period. I was overwhelmed by its culture, art, and amazing architecture. Thanks to this Florence Pass, I've had a chance to see so many amazing paintings in the Uffizi Gallery: the Birth of Venus by Botticelli, Caravaggio's Medusa, and Venus of Urbino by Titian, just to name a few. The highlight was, of course, Michelangelo's David in the Accademia Gallery. Loved it!

THE UFFIZI GALLERY – THE PALACE OF MASTERPIECES
Whatever Florence Pass option you choose, you will gain priority entry to one of the most famous galleries in the world - the Uffizi Gallery. Not surprisingly, "Uffizi" means "the offices". In those times, only the top floor was dedicated to hosting the Medici's family art collection. The Medici were the most prominent patrons of art during the Renaissance period in Italy. Artists such as Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci benefited from this patronage, and their masterpieces quickly became highlights of the gallery. As the art collection grew, the Uffizi was transformed from an office building into an art gallery. The Uffizi Gallery officially opened to the public in 1769. Some of the magnificent works of art you will have a chance to marvel at include the Birth of Venus by Botticelli, the Annunciation by Leonardo da Vinci, Doni Tondo by Michelangelo, and many others.
THE ACCADEMIA GALLERY – DAVID'S JOURNEY
A must-see on anyone's list is the Statue of David by the famous sculptor Michelangelo. Believe it or not, the statue was standing at the Piazza della Signoria in 1504! For almost four centuries, this priceless statue was out in the open and exposed to the elements. By the second half of the 19th century, art experts and city magistrates had made a decision to put the priceless statue inside a building. The Accademia Gallery seemed perfect, but the statue needed its own space. So, the architect Emilio de Fabris was given a task to design a square-shaped building (known as the Tribune) within the Accademia. In 1882, the building was finally finished, and the statue was presented to the public. It's worth mentioning that the Accademia Gallery hosts other works of art as well. Paintings by Renaissance masters such as Sandro Botticelli, Domenico Ghirlandaio, Pontormo, and many others are also on display. Oh, and be sure to check out the Museum of Musical Instruments; it's within the Accademia Gallery and is included in the Florence Pass!
BRUNELLESCHI'S DOME – THE BEST CITY VIEW
By skipping the ticket lines, you will have priority entry to one of the most famous buildings in Florence, Brunelleschi's Dome! Located in the historic center of the city at the Piazza del Duomo is the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. This architectural wonder still boasts the title of being the biggest brick dome in the world! By walking inside, you will have the chance to marvel at the enormous fresco of the dome's ceiling - The Last Judgment. This fresco is still the biggest in the world! There are many fascinating details you will learn with the help of the Florence Pass audio guide app!
PITTI PALACE – THE RESIDENCE OF THE MEDICI FAMILY
By choosing the five-day option of Florence Pass, you will have plenty of time to discover and enjoy the Pitti Palace at your own pace. As the name suggests, it was built by the Pitti family, but later it was sold to the Medici family. It was the Medici's main residence for the next two and a half centuries, after which it became a public museum in the late 18th century. Within its walls, there are five different art galleries and a museum. The main gallery of the museum is the Palatine Gallery, which contains 28 different rooms filled with precious artwork. Its collections include works from some of the finest artists of the Renaissance and Baroque periods, such as Titian, Raphael, Caravaggio, and Rubens.
BOBOLI AND BARDINI GARDENS – A RENAISSANCE LANDSCAPE
Behind the Pitti Palace are the renowned Boboli Gardens. They offer a stunning view of the city as well as a refreshing stroll during the summer months. It was built and enlarged throughout the centuries and represents the most important example of the Italian garden. Its layout and design later served as an inspiration for many aristocratic and royal gardens in Europe. Lavishly decorated with fountains, statues, and many ornamental details, it has become the ideal Renaissance landscape. As you walk its straight and wide paths, you can easily imagine yourself being a member of the Medici family some 400 years ago, just strolling the garden and enjoying peace and tranquility.
