There’s nothing I love more than walking through nature, and the Boboli Gardens were something else! Obviously the vegetation is beautiful, but what impressed me were the attractions. Wherever we turned, there were stunning statues - and don’t get me started on the Artichoke Fountain! Literally, every corner of these gardens is beautiful. Well worth your visit!
When we got to the Boboli Gardens, there was an hour of waiting time. Since it was already 4:30, and the garden closes at 6:30, we would barely have time to explore. Do you know who are the architects behind the Boboli Gardens?
Niccolò Tribolo, an Italian artist and architect serving Cosimo I de' Medici, was the Boboli Gardens’ original architect. However, after his death in 1550, three others took over his task: Bartolomeo Ammanati, Giorgio Vasari, and Bernardo Buontalenti. Ammanati oversaw the construction, Vasari contributed to the planning of the grottos, and Buontalenti was involved with sculptures and the architecture of the main grotto.
