What gorgeous artwork!
I only decided to visit the Uffizi Gallery because my sister wanted to go, but I’m so glad she convinced me! The paintings and sculptures are just gorgeous…my sister loved Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus, but, personally, I was entranced by Primavera. Wherever you turn, each room has stunning paintings inside - something is sure to captivate you!
I’m so happy I didn’t have to wait in line
These Uffizi Gallery priority access tickets saved the day! There was an hour-long wait to get inside the Uffizi Gallery. If I had had to wait that long, I honestly would have lost the will to even visit the gallery (and I’m a huge art fan!). Luckily, with this ticket, I could enter the site immediately and start my exploration.

SEE MASTERPIECES OF ITALIAN RENAISSANCE ART
As you explore the Uffizi Gallery, you'll see countless priceless works from renowned Renaissance artists. For example, Michelangelo's stunning "The Doni Tondo." This painting displays the Holy Family and is the only finished painting by the mature Michelangelo to survive. Other notable works include Leonardo Da Vinci's The Adoration of the Magi and The Annunciation - both showing pivotal moments in Christian history. It's also well worth seeing Rafaello's The Madonna of the Goldfinch and The Portrait of Leo X.
BOTTICELLI'S PAINTINGS
The highlight of the Uffizi Gallery is Botticelli's Birth of Venus. This gorgeous painting shows the goddess of beauty and love, Venus, as she is born from sea foam. The wind god Zephyr is blowing her to shore, where one of her attendants, the Hora of spring, is waiting for her. Another must-see work is Botticelli's beautiful Primavera. This large panel painting shows figures from classical mythology in a pastoral setting. The meaning of this mysterious painting is not explicit, but it seems to celebrate the coming spring.

Who built the Uffizi Gallery?
The House of Medici - a banking family and powerful political dynasty in Florence. They also had a huge interest in art and commissioned the Uffizi Gallery in Florence as their personal art collection. The U-shaped building was used for both administrative offices and storing artwork. However, after the Medicis passed, the gallery was turned into the public art museum we know today.
Just across the river lies Palazzo Pitti, which became the main residence of the Medici family, and behind it stretch the Boboli Gardens, designed as their private royal park. To complete your cultural journey through Florence, make sure to book your Pitti Palace ticket and Boboli Gardens tickets in advance.
